On November 8, 2023 the team of the
University Research Center for Ancient European and Eastern
Mediterranean Cultures took part in the program of the XVI National
Student Arts Festival 2023 with a photo exhibition "Rock Shrines
from the Western Rhodopes. Virtual walks "
The exhibition presents an unusual
look at the sacred sites of the ancient inhabitants of the Western
Rhodope. With the help of modern digital technologies, objects of
the cultural and historical past reveal their beauty and greatness.
Each photo has a QR code, which, when scanned with a smartphone
camera, allows you to take a virtual tour of the sanctuary. A
360-degree panorama is visualized on the screen, in which we can
virtually move and view the surrounding rocks and nature from a
different point of view. Most impressive are the shots from the top
of the rock, allowing you to see the horizon and nearby sanctuaries
with which there is a visual connection.
