The second international symposium
"Megalithic Monuments and Cult Practices" took place from 12 to 14
October 2016.
Organizer of the symposium was
University Research Center for ancient European and Eastern
Mediterranean Cultures at South-West University "Neofit Rilski"
with co-organizers Faculty of Arts, Department of Cultural Studies,
Institute for Space Research and Technology at BAS, Regional
Ethnographic Museum - Plovdiv and Non-Profit Association Borei
2009.
The scientific forum was attended
by 64 scientists from 16 countries and 3 continents - Bulgaria, UK,
USA, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Georgia,
Russia, India, Pakistan and Canada and etc.
Within the scientific excursion
were visited megalithic and rock-cut monuments along the Middle
Mesta River - one of the most significant scientific discoveries of
the University Research Centre for Ancient Eastern Mediterranean
and European cultures in the past 16 years.
The Proceedings will be published
by Neofit Rilski University Press.
